You swung and missed.

At least you won’t wonder what could have been.

You swung and missed.

At least you won’t be on the sidelines with regret.

You swung and missed.

At least you won’t resent yourself and then others.

You swung and missed.

At least you won’t live in a world of empty excuses.

You swung and missed.

At least you looked in the mirror and bet on yourself.

You swung and missed.

At least you chose to do life instead of vicariously live.

You swung and missed.

At least you stopped playing small and honored this life.

You swung and missed.

At least you didn’t conform to the safe path of society’s standard.

Here’s the deal:

Don’t sign up for a bigger life: pursuing a calling, living out your dreams, full bank accounts —if you don’t want to swing and miss.

Getting your ass handed to you, being told “no, thanks” after months or years of work —starting a podcast, show, brand and having no one give any fucks about it:

This is what you signed up for.

So, you swung and missed:

You didn’t get featured.
You didn’t get the advance.
You didn’t get the huge client.
You didn’t get the downloads.
You didn’t get the starring role.
You didn’t get the media feature.

So, what?

If you’re uncommitted and wait it easy —there’s a gig waiting for you at GEICO.

(Nothing against them before Twitter attacks me.)

If you’re committed and want it badly then nothing, and I mean nothing— will stop you.

(This isn’t an Instagram cliche, it’s an energy that moves mountains.)

You swung and missed.

I can’t possibly feel ‘bad’ for you —because sympathy is useless and I’ve been there a million times.

But I can surely empathize and tell you to keep going.

Otherwise, you never wanted it in the first place.

Carry on now.
